Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Minsk. Sergey, her father (who passed away in the year 2019), was an ice-hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka, born on May 5th, 1998, from Minsk Belarus. Aryna is the holder of twelve WTA Singles titles, one of which was named "Grand Slam" in the Australian Open 2023. When it comes to doubles, she's an excellent player. She's been a winner of two Majors in the past with Elise Mertens: her US Open in 2019 and the Australian Open in 2021. Also, she achieved an incredible Sunshine Double in 2019, taking her the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open with Elise Mertens. Only four women's pairs were able to achieve this feat. The 23rd of August, 2021 was the day she was ranked second in the world singles ranking her highest ranking was again reached in January 2023. After winning the Melbourne doubles competition in February 2021 and gaining the doubles title, she managed climb the ranks and take over the top spot for this particular area. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) coached her for part of the 2019 season as well as from the year 2018 until end. Dieter Kindlmann was her coach for a short time in August of 2020 until September. She is being trained by her fellow countryman Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Her top idols are Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
